The last day of 2012

Is just another hour away from where I am typing at this moment. I am seriously contemplating not to blog about the summary of events that I have done this year because every blogger seems to be doing that and I don't feel like labeling myself in the same category. To justify that, I dig through my archives and ...

  • I was 60kg in year 2004. What the heck happened that I am 65kg now?
  • I generally don't blog much end of the year. This year is the year I had the most entries in Dec.
  • My year end summary gets shorter and shorter every year.
  • My new year resolution seem to revolve around loosing weight and not achieving it. See point 1. I suck.
  • There was only 1 year that I didn't summarize the events.
  • I quite enjoy reading my own blogs. Confirm narcissist.
So, I can't justify not blogging a summary. The biggest event that changed my life forever had to go to Project Greater Good. It's a done deal and the last milestone i.e to find employment was completed. I am due to start on Jan 2013. It has been a 4 year sideline project. Now come the stabilization period that will test my adaptability skills like its never been tested before. My uncle observed- although I am physically here, my roots have not been truly uprooted from my old lifestyle. With my anti-social tendencies and only 1 friend  in Koala Land with the same anti social tendencies, it will take some time to build some roots here.

I also got a 7 month break from work. I would have enjoyed it more if the present me can travel back in time to inform the 7 month-ago-me that I will get a job in December. It was a mental test that I don't think I did too well. It's the Taurus in me that tied all self values to possessions. No job = no security = panic = depression = I-wish-I-was-dead kind of mentality. Luckily I have a wide network of support group from all over the world. It was what kept me going. From them I learn the power of encouragement. Never underestimate it not matter how small.

I also gained half a brother through my youngest sister's marriage. The wedding was fantastic and lavish. After marriage, there will be babies soon I hope! We haven't had babies for the last 20 years in our household. I can't wait!

Next year is likely a very quiet year with no planned travels or activities anywhere. Just adaptation, planting some roots and some volunteer work with Nite.

HAPPY NEW YEAR ALL!
